What is La Marcha del Mamut
La Marcha del Mamut is a non-competitive hiking challenge offering 30 and 50-kilometre routes through Valencia and its surroundings. The goal is to complete the chosen distance, combining urban stretches with natural paths and iconic landscapes of the city. According to the organisers, the event is designed to test participants’ physical and mental endurance, with no timer or ranking.
Routes and course
Both itineraries start and finish at Pont del Nou d’Octubre, in the Campanar neighbourhood. The 30 km route passes through green areas and some of Valencia’s most well-known spots, while the 50 km route extends into more demanding natural surroundings. The organisers publish the detailed course on their official website before the event.
Requirements and recommendations
La Marcha del Mamut is open to participants of all ages, though prior experience in long-distance hiking is recommended. As it is not a race, there is no time limit to complete the route. Registration includes a race bib, accident insurance, and refreshments at strategic points along the course.
