Al Ayre Español performs the oratorio Il martirio di Santa Teodosia by Alessandro Scarlatti on 27 January 2027 at 19:00 in the Teatre Martín i Soler at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.

The work

Composed in 1705, this Baroque oratorio tells the story of Saint Theodosia of Tyre through arias and choruses. It will be performed in Italian with surtitles in English and Spanish.

The ensemble

Founded in 1988 by Eduardo López Banzo, Al Ayre Español is a leading Baroque music ensemble using period instruments. Their repertoire includes works by Scarlatti, Handel, and Vivaldi.
