Every summer, Metrovalencia's upgrade works force temporary closures on stretches of lines 5 and 7, in particular the Alameda–Marítim axis linking the centre with the seafront. The summer closures affect the underground stretch between Alameda and Marítim on lines 5 and 7, the corridor joining the centre (Colón, Xàtiva, Alameda) with Marítim, where you connect to the trams towards the beaches. FGV uses the lower-demand months for works that cannot be done with the line running.
During the closure FGV runs a replacement service between the affected stations. Our accessible recommendation depends on your origin and destination: often the best option is not the replacement bus but the regular network.
The entire EMT fleet carries a double ramp and two wheelchair spaces by bylaw, with no lifts involved: it is the most robust alternative during the closure. Several daytime lines link the city-centre axis with the Poblats Marítims and the Marina; check them on the real-time map before setting off.
Marítim interchanges with trams L6 and L8, which run at street level: level boarding, no stairs and no lifts in between. If you are heading to the beach or the seafront axis, the tram is the natural accessible connection once past the closed stretch.
FGV runs a replacement service during the works. Before relying on it, confirm in the official notice that the assigned vehicles are low-floor with a ramp: in previous summers the allocation has varied by stretch and time of day.
