Saint Vincent Ferrer and Corpus 2027 in Valencia

Two spring festivals with centuries of history in central Valencia: in April, the altars of Saint Vincent Ferrer, where children act out the patron saint's miracles in Valencian; in late May or June, Corpus Christi, with the Convite parade, the Rocas and its great procession.

No plans published for 2027 yet: the season's listings start filling up in the weeks before 29 March.

The altars and the milacres

The neighbourhood Vincentian associations build altars in the street and, on them, children perform the milacres: short plays in Valencian about the miracles of Saint Vincent Ferrer. It is the most child-centred, neighbourhood festival of the Valencian calendar.

Saint Vincent Monday

It is the second Monday after Easter; this year, 5 April. In the afternoon there are milacres at the altars and, as evening falls, the general procession winds through the old town to Plaza de l'Almoina. At night, the lowering of the saint's statue closes the festival.

The saint's birthplace

On Calle del Mar stands the house where Saint Vincent Ferrer was born, known as the Pouet de Sant Vicent, which you can visit.

Corpus: Convite, Rocas and procession

Valencia celebrates Corpus Christi on the Sunday after Corpus Thursday; this year, 30 May. At midday the Convite parade, the invitation to the procession, goes through the centre with dances and music. In the afternoon the Rocas —large wooden floats pulled by horses— return from Plaza de la Virgen to the Casa de las Rocas, and at nightfall the solemn procession sets off, led by the Senyera.
