What is «La paraula com a objecte»
«La paraula com a objecte» is a collective performative action curated by Martíllopis that will transform Sporting Club Russafa into an artistic creation workshop. The project involves producing a collective artist’s book from «palibretos»: free-format proposals where the word becomes an artistic object, whether in physical or conceptual form. Each participant will contribute their piece, which will be integrated into a book-box designed by MacDiego. The final work will also include audiovisual documentation of the process—video by Pitanga and photography by Tham Casany—and will become part of the artist’s book archive at the Universitat Politècnica de València and the library of its Faculty of Fine Arts.
Who is taking part
The project features 20 artists, including Llorenç Barber, Monserrat Palacios, Bartolomé Ferrando, Miguel Molina-Alarcón, Bibiana de la Soledad, David Vila, Pepe Romero, and Tamara Casañ. The performative action will be choral: artists and the public will jointly create a polyphonic and polygestural event, where each contribution will dialogue with the others in real time. Audience participation is not limited to observation; their interaction is an essential part of the final outcome.
How it unfolds
The incorporation of the «palibretos» into the book-box will take place during the performative action, combining live creation, interdisciplinary dialogue, and documentary recording. The process will be captured in video and photography, materials that will be integrated into the work as an audiovisual extension of the physical book. This is not a static exhibition but a dynamic event where the act of creating—and sharing—is as important as the resulting object.
