What is Vocal Vidas
Vocal Vidas is an a cappella female quartet founded in Santiago de Cuba in 2010. With two sopranos and two contraltos, they perform a repertoire spanning from Cuban popular music—such as son, guaracha, and timba—to universal genres like jazz, blues, soul, and funk. Their proposal stands out for vocal harmony and the adaptation of pieces from different styles without instrumental accompaniment.
The group has been recognized with the Cubadisco Award 2016 and nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards. In 2026, they received the Latino Award for Best Sound Design for their Live Session material and the Talento Lucrecia Award. They were also featured in the documentary Soy cubana (2018), directed by U.S. filmmakers and awarded at the South by Southwest Festival in Texas.
