The Centre Cultural La Nau hosts a conference by Servando Rocha, where the writer and editor will address reading as a clandestine and resistant act. Under the title «Leer es un acto clandestino. ¿Por qué los libros pueden salvarnos?», the session invites reflection on the role of literature in a society dominated by immediacy and disconnection.
If you need information on how to get there, check the La Nau venue page.
What the conference proposes
Rocha argues that books are objects of power capable of challenging superficial dynamics that reward the ephemeral. The talk will revolve around how reading, silence, imagination, and even "wasting time" can become dissident acts to reconnect with the present. While no specific programme is outlined, the conference is expected to reflect on literature as a counter-map against contemporary acceleration, reclaiming attention as an act of resistance.
