What’s on stage
«Ridi Pagliaccio» is a clown performance created by Asaco Producciones, inspired by the aria Vesti la giubba from the opera Pagliacci. Two clown brothers—a whiteface and an auguste—attempt to stage an opera but end up uncovering the tragic side of their craft: making people laugh even with a broken heart. The show blends laughter, tears, live music, singing, and classic clown acts, designed for the whole family.
Who’s performing
The show is performed by Jose A. Maestro and Fco. Javier Ceballos, directed by Jaume Mateu (also known as Tortell Poltrona). The Extremaduran company Asaco Producciones is behind the production, combining traditional physical humour with operatic references.
Access and requirements
Tickets cost €3 and grant access to a single performance. The show is recommended for all audiences, with no age restrictions. Tickets can be purchased at the Casa de Cultura de Xirivella (Plaza de la Iglesia, 1) or at the Auditorio Pepe Correa one hour before the start, following the organisation of previous editions.
Festival context
This production is part of the 33rd Mostra Internacional de Pallasses i Pallassos de Xirivella, a festival that in 2026 will feature 12 shows between 22 October and 22 November. Now an annual highlight in the town, the event brings together clown performances in a variety of styles and from different companies.
