A symphonic concert featuring the best of Wagner
On 20 November 2026 at 19:30, the Sala Iturbi at Palau de la Música in Valencia programmes a concert dedicated to Richard Wagner, focusing on his masterpiece, Parsifal. This event is part of the 2026/2027 symphonic season and will feature two internationally renowned soloists: Latvian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča, who will perform the role of Kundry, and Swedish tenor Michael Weinius, as Parsifal. The Valencia Orchestra, conducted by Alexander Liebreich, will bring this selection of excerpts from the work to life.

- Robert Schumann: Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 97 "Rhenish".
Parsifal, composed between 1877 and 1882, is Wagner’s final work and one of the most complex in the operatic repertoire. Conceived as a "sacred stage festival," the piece explores themes of redemption, compassion, and spiritual quest, inspired by the Arthurian legend of the knight Parsifal and his mission to recover the Holy Grail. While the full work—lasting over four hours—will not be performed on this occasion, the selected excerpts will allow the audience to enjoy some of the most iconic passages from the score.
