What’s on stage
«Neuronas que cantan» is a performative solo created and performed by Val Germain, exploring the inner consciousness of a woman marked by two traumatic experiences: a romantic betrayal and a domestic violence accusation. Directed by Carmen Meinhof, the piece shifts the personal conflict into a collective and gender-based reflection, blending humour and poetry to question whether it’s possible to shed pain and experiment with new ways of existing. According to Meinhof-Germain, the show aims to turn the pursuit of happiness into an act of resistance.
Who’s performing
The Meinhof-Germain company, based between Valencia, Germany, and Chile, presents this piece. Val Germain is the author and performer of the solo, while Carmen Meinhof handles the direction. The video is by Inti Gallardo and Daniela del Pomar. The proposal merges physical theatre, autobiographical narrative, and multimedia elements to craft an intimate yet political story.
