An exhibition on the ground as memory of the present
The Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània presents Memories of the Ground, a collective exhibition bringing together eight contemporary artists to explore the ground as a transforming space, laden with memories and possible futures. The exhibition, organised by the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana, features works by Juana Francés, Esther Gatón, Elena Lavellés, Menhir, Daniel Ortega, Miguel Sbastida, Julia Varela and Laia Ventayol.
The pieces, displayed in Sala 2 of the Centre del Carme, draw from the components of the ground—minerals, fossils, waste, and plastiglomerates—to reflect on the Anthropocene, human impact on the planet, and the narratives emerging from matter. Unlike classic informalism, these contemporary proposals expand artistic language into the scientific and political realms.
The exhibition will be open until 4 October 2026. More information about the venue here.
