What’s being presented
Mans de Destral & els Oratges Canviants present «Aixopluc» at CC Nave3 Ribes, their second album. The record frames music as a refuge from uncertainty and a space to resist, share, and move forward—hence its title, which means "shelter" in Valencian.
The band’s sound is Valencian-language music with a critical spirit and a hard-to-pin-down style: it shifts from rock to roots song and blends tracks designed for dancing and letting go.
Who’s performing
Mans de Destral is the project of Manel Villar, the composer and lead vocalist, who takes the stage with Els Oratges Canviants. The band includes Enric «Migjorn» on drums, Amparo «Brisa de Mar» on bass, Nico «Ponentà» and Jose «Frescoreta» on guitars, and Maite «Sol d’Hivern» on vocals. The musicians’ nicknames reference winds and weather states, aligning with the group’s name.
The band’s trajectory
Mans de Destral’s self-titled debut album earned three nominations at the Premis Ovidi 2019 and won the award for best lyrics. «Aixopluc» follows that debut.
About the venue
CC Nave3 Ribes is a municipal cultural centre housed in a former railway building in Parque Central, constructed in 1917 by architect Demetrio Ribes and repurposed for cultural use. Its programme combines music, theatre, cinema, dance, workshops, talks, and exhibitions.
