What’s being performed
«Llueve y hace sol en París» is a play that tackles grief from two opposing perspectives. Sofía and Fátima, two mothers who have lost their children in a terrorist attack—the daughter of one and the son of the other—meet in Paris under a relentless rain. Written by Portuguese playwright Abel Neves and translated into Spanish by Lourdes Eced, the piece explores how pain can become a meeting point, even when wounds seem irreconcilable. According to the synopsis, the text poses a central question: how do you keep living after losing everything?
Who’s performing and directing
The production is directed by Cristina Yáñez, with Teatro de la Estación (Aragón) as the producer. On stage, actresses Silvia Espigado and Inmaculada Oliver portray Sofía and Fátima, respectively. Both bring to life two women who, from different sides of grief, begin a dialogue as fragile as it is necessary. The play, which premiered on Spanish theatre circuits, arrives in Valencia with a staging that blends intimacy and rawness.
