The Edificio Rialto will host the screening of Herbaria, a documentary directed by Argentine filmmaker Leandro Listorti in 2022. This session is part of the Audiovisual Heritage Days 2026, a cycle organised by the Institut Valencià de Cultura to showcase films with unique thematic and artistic approaches.
What’s being screened
Herbaria is a documentary that explores the connection between botany and cinema, two seemingly distant disciplines linked by their political and artistic implications. The film reflects on conservation processes—of both plant species and films—highlighting how preservation, whether of nature or audiovisual heritage, becomes an act of resistance and memory. The 83-minute film will be screened in its original Spanish version.
Time and access
The screening will take place on 28 October at 18:00. Entry is free and does not require prior booking, though seating is limited. The session will include an introduction by Nuria Castellote, Head of Programming at the Valencian Film Archive, who will contextualise the film and its significance within the cycle.
Context of the cycle
The Audiovisual Heritage Days 2026 aim to spotlight films like Herbaria that address themes such as cultural preservation, sustainability, and cinematic innovation. This event is an opportunity to discover works that go beyond entertainment, inviting reflection on artistic legacy and its conservation.
