On 25 May 2027 at 19:30, Sala Iturbi at the Palau de la Música de València will host a recital by pianist Hélène Grimaud, who will perform two key works from the piano repertoire: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111 and Franz Schubert’s Piano Sonata No. 21 in B-flat major, D 960. Both are the final sonatas composed by their respective authors.
Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 111, written in 1822, consists of two movements and stands out for its dramatic intensity and its second movement, the Arietta, which has an almost visionary character. Schubert’s Sonata D 960, composed in 1828, is one of the composer’s longest and reflects his lyrical and melancholic style.
The concert is part of the Palau de la Música’s Piano Series, dedicated to great keyboard performers.
