The Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in Valencia
On 12 November 2026, Sala Iturbi at the Palau de la Música de Valencia will host an extraordinary concert by the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, one of Europe’s most renowned youth orchestras. Under the baton of maestro Cristian Macelaru and featuring cellist Julia Hagen as soloist, the programme will include Antonín Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104, a cornerstone of the Romantic repertoire.
Founded in 1986 at the initiative of Claudio Abbado, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester brings together young musicians from over twenty European countries each year, selected through auditions. Their performance in Valencia offers a unique opportunity to experience a ensemble that blends technical precision with interpretative energy.
Concert details
The concert will begin at 19:30 and last approximately two hours, including an intermission. Tickets, priced between €21 and €40, will be available from 1 October 2026 via the Palau de la Música box office.
