Schubert and Rossini at Sala Iturbi
On 9 December 2026, the Freiburger Barockorchester will present a symphonic concert at Sala Iturbi in Palau de la Música, Valencia, featuring a programme centred around the works of Franz Schubert. The highlight will be the performance of his Symphony in C major D.944 «La Grande», one of the most extensive and ambitious compositions in the classical repertoire. The orchestra, renowned for its historically informed performances, will be conducted by Spanish maestro Pablo Heras-Casado, with soprano Julie Fuchs joining for Rossini’s cantata La morte di Didone. The programme will also include Schubert’s Overture in the Italian Style D.590.
