What is the Festival Cinema Ciutadà Compromés
The XII Festival Cinema Ciutadà Compromés (FCCC) is a social cinema festival that, since 2013, has used audiovisual media to promote new ways of living, denounce injustices, and encourage critical reflection. In its 2026 edition, the festival expands its territorial reach to include works from across the Spanish and Catalan-speaking regions, featuring over one hundred short films addressing issues such as abuse of power, historical memory, corruption, culture, and identity.
Programme and venues
The festival runs from 14 to 28 October 2026, with screenings and activities in Valencia and Castelló de la Plana. According to the organisers, the opening event will take place in Valencia with the screening of the film Dissonants, while in Castelló, two sessions will be held at L’Espai Cultural, in collaboration with Castelló per la Justícia and Acció Cultural del País Valencià (ACPV). The full programme includes multiple screenings throughout the fifteen days of the event.
Objectives and focus
The FCCC aims to highlight realities often overlooked by mainstream media. Through cinema, the festival fosters debate on social and political issues, reclaiming historical memories and offering critical perspectives. The 2026 edition strengthens this commitment with a broader and more diverse programme, spanning from the north to the south of Spanish and Catalan-speaking territories.
