What’s being screened
«El regreso del hijo pródigo» (Awdat al ibn al dal, 1976) is an Algerian film directed by Mouny Berrah, a pioneer of cinema in her country. The film tackles themes of identity, exile, and the search for roots through the story of a young man returning to his homeland after years abroad. It will be shown in its original version with Spanish subtitles, as part of the Filmoteca de Valencia’s programme.
Duration and format
The screening lasts 125 minutes without an interval. The Edificio Rialto, home to the Filmoteca de la Generalitat Valenciana, ensures optimal sound and picture quality, as is standard for its classic and contemporary cinema cycles.
