What’s being screened
«El crimen de Cuenca» (1980), directed by Pilar Miró, is a historical drama based on real events that reconstructs the judicial case known as el crimen de Cuenca, which took place in 1910. The film, censored upon its release and later becoming a symbol of the fight for freedom of expression, addresses torture and judicial errors in rural Spain. It will be shown in its original version with Spanish subtitles, as part of the Huellas de una sombra cycle within the Dijous de pel·lícula programme at UPV.
