The Dijous de pel·lícula cycle at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) screens «Tigres de paper» (Fernando Colomo, 1977), a dramatic comedy about Madrid’s youth in the 1970s, on 10 December 2026. Free entry, original version with Spanish subtitles.

What’s being screened

«Tigres de paper» (1977), directed by Fernando Colomo, is one of the emblematic films of Spanish Transition cinema. The film portrays a group of young people from Madrid in the 1970s with irony and tenderness, exploring their hopes, disillusions, and search for identity in a Spain undergoing transformation. Shot as a dramatic comedy, it combines sharp dialogue with a soundtrack that captures the era, becoming a generational portrait that transcends its historical context.

Who coordinates the cycle

The Dijous de pel·lícula cycle is organised by the UPV’s Cultural Action Area, in collaboration with the Institut français de Valencia. This edition’s programme—featuring classics like Viridiana (Buñuel) alongside contemporary titles—is curated by Javier Moral Martín and Paula Cardells Mosteiro, aiming to bring significant works of Spanish audiovisual heritage to the university community.

Timing and access

The screening of Tigres de paper will take place on 10 December 2026 at 18:00 in the Rectorate’s Auditorium (Building 3A). Entry is free until full capacity, and the film will be shown in its original version with Spanish subtitles.
