What’s being screened
The Dijous de pel·lícula cycle presents «El día de la bestia» (1995), a film directed by Álex de la Iglesia. The session is part of Huellas de una sombra, a retrospective of Spanish cinema spanning from the 1960s to contemporary titles. The screening will be in the original version with Spanish subtitles, as organised by the cycle.
Time and access
The screening takes place on 19 November 2026 at the Salón de Actos del Rectorado (Building 3A), UPV. Entry is free until full capacity, with no prior booking required. The cycle is coordinated by Javier Moral Martín and Paula Cardells Mosteiro, in collaboration with the Institut français de Valencia.
Cycle programme
El día de la bestia is the second session of the 2026-2027 season. The cycle features other key Spanish films, including Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (Almodóvar, 1988), El espíritu de la colmena (Víctor Erice, 1973), and Viridiana (Buñuel, 1961), with weekly screenings until January 2027.
