What is the Death Café
The Death Café is a meeting space to talk and debate about death from a social, cultural, and emotional perspective. It emerged in 2011, created by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid, inspired by the ideas of Bernard Crettax. Since then, thousands of sessions have been held in over 80 countries. It is not a therapy group or grief support, but a place to share reflections in an atmosphere of freedom and respect.
In this session, the central theme will be "Death and Affections", an open dialogue on how emotional bonds influence our perception of death and how death, in turn, transforms our relationships.
Who is behind it
The session will be facilitated by Iris Almenara and Elena Álvarez, who will guide the debate and encourage attendee participation. Both foster a welcoming and non-judgmental environment where every voice is heard.
How to participate
Entry is free and open until the venue’s capacity is reached. As a gesture of support for La Casa de Patraix, attendees are asked to make a minimum purchase during the event. No reservation is required, but if you’d like to confirm your attendance, you can send a message to the WhatsApp number 670 115 918.
