What are Bartolomé Ferrando’s Dada actions
Bartolomé Ferrando, a sound artist, performer and visual poet, presents a series of unpublished performative actions inspired by the Dada movement and its later developments. Curated by Ramon Escrivà as part of the Colección 84 cycle, the intervention explores the relationships between sound, language, body and space, activating the works and documents in the first room of IVAM’s Gallery 4. Ferrando revives the disruptive and experimental nature of the historical avant-garde, adapting it to a contemporary context.
Programme and development
The session, starting at 18:00 in Gallery 4 (Hall 2), includes an introduction by Erik Harley, followed by Ferrando’s performative actions. The format combines improvisation, sound poetry and gesturality, engaging directly with the museum’s collection. According to IVAM, these actions aim to "generate new readings" of the centre’s holdings, incorporating multidisciplinary perspectives.
Access and requirements
The event is free and open to all, with no prior registration required. There are no age restrictions. Check how to get there on the IVAM (Institut Valencià d'Art Modern) page.
