CSMV Chamber Music Concert at Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia

What’s being performed

The CSMV Chamber Music Concert features a programme of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, Gabriel Fauré and Francis Poulenc. The repertoire spans from Viennese classicism and German romanticism to French music of the late 19th and 20th centuries.

According to Ateneo Mercantil, the programme showcases different approaches to chamber music: the dialogue between instruments, the fusion of music and poetry, and the expressiveness of music written for the theatre.

Who’s performing

The concert is performed by musicians from the Conservatorio Superior de Música «Joaquín Rodrigo» de Valencia (CSMV). They will appear in three formations: two instrumental trios and an ensemble of two sopranos with piano, which adds the vocal element to the programme.

The event is part of the Música en el Ateneo cycle, which organises chamber music concerts featuring CSMV students at Teatro Ateneo on Sunday mornings.
