Carmina y amén with live soundtrack

The Visuals cycle at Palau de la Música returns to Valencia with one of its boldest proposals: cinema classics screened while bands perform live reinterpretations of their soundtracks. This time, it’s the turn of Carmina y amén, Paco León’s film, which will be shown in the Sala Rodrigo on 14 October 2026 at 19:30. The band bringing its music to life will be Loretta’s, a Valencian group known for their blend of rock, punk, and electronic music.

This session is part of Mostra365, the cultural programme that extends the spirit of the Mostra de Cinema del Mediterrani throughout the year. As in previous editions, each screening is a unique spectacle: the interaction between image and live sound makes the experience unforgettable.

Practical details

What is Visuals?

Visuals is a format designed to break away from the passivity of traditional screenings. Instead of simply watching a film with its original soundtrack, the audience experiences a real-time dialogue between image and music. The selected bands—in this case, Loretta’s—don’t play the original score but create a new version, adapted to their style. The result is a reinterpretation that may stay true to the film’s spirit or completely subvert it.

In past editions, the cycle has featured proposals like Taxi Driver with ZABALA or Alice in Wonderland accompanied by SANSPOK. The choice of Carmina y amén, a dark comedy with social undertones, promises an equally intense and irreverent musical take.

Frequently asked questions

Who are Loretta’s?

Loretta’s is a Valencian band formed in 2015. Their sound blends rock, punk, and electronic music, with lyrics exploring social and personal themes. They’ve released two albums—Loretta’s (2017) and II (2020)—and performed at festivals like Festimad and Vitalfest. This will be their first participation in the Visuals cycle.

Are tickets still available for the event?

There’s no current information on ticket availability. Given that previous sessions sold out quickly, it’s advisable to book in advance via the Palau’s website.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

No minimum age is specified in the sources consulted. Carmina y amén is rated 12+, but as this is a screening with live music—and no content alterations—it’s likely the event will follow the same recommendation.

Can I eat or drink during the screening?

Palau de la Música allows drinks and snacks as long as they don’t disrupt the experience for others. However, silence is requested during the live performance to avoid interfering with the interpretation.
