Bruckner in Sala Iturbi
On 15 January 2027, the Orquesta de València will perform Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 8 in C minor, WAB 108 at Sala Iturbi in the Palau de la Música de València. Under the baton of Alexander Liebreich, the orchestra’s principal conductor, this concert closes the first month of the year as part of the 2026-2027 symphonic season.
Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony, composed between 1884 and 1887, is one of the most expansive and complex works in the Romantic repertoire, lasting approximately 75 minutes. Its four-movement structure demands a large orchestra and an interpretation that balances technical precision with expressive depth. Liebreich, whose renewal as the orchestra’s conductor was announced as part of the Palau’s 40th-anniversary celebrations, will tackle this monumental score in a programme that underscores artistic ambition.
