On 11 November 2026 at 19:30, the Sala Iturbi at Palau de la Música de Valencia programmes a symphonic concert featuring two masterpieces from the classical repertoire: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 and Richard Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben, Op. 40 (A Hero’s Life). Works in detail
Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 (Beethoven): Composed in 1806, this is one of the few works for violin and orchestra by the composer. It consists of three movements (Allegro ma non troppo, Larghetto and Rondo: Allegro) and lasts approximately 45 minutes. Isabelle Faust, the invited soloist, is a German violinist with an extensive international career and multiple recordings of this concerto.
Ein Heldenleben, Op. 40 (Richard Strauss): A symphonic poem composed in 1898, divided into six sections that depict the life of a hero. The work, lasting around 50 minutes, is renowned for its orchestral complexity and rich timbres.
