Beethoven in Four Acts
The Palau de la Música de Valencia will host the fourth and final concert of the cycle dedicated to the complete symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven on 19 May 2027, performed by the Staatskapelle Dresden under the baton of Daniele Gatti. This project, commemorating the bicentenary of the composer’s death, spans four evenings in May 2027, each focusing on a group of symphonies.
Programme: Two Symphonies and a Premiere
The programme includes:
- Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93 (Beethoven).
- Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 (Choral), featuring its iconic fourth movement, Ode to Joy.
- Premiere of a work by Jörg Widmann, a contemporary German composer.
The Staatskapelle Dresden, founded in 1548 and one of the world’s oldest orchestras, is renowned for its refined sound and interpretative tradition. Daniele Gatti, the orchestra’s principal conductor since 2024, is one of the most respected maestros on the international stage.

The concert will take place in the Sala Iturbi at the Palau de la Música de Valencia. Tickets, available on the Palau’s official website, range from €35 to €170, depending on the seat. No minimum age is specified, but the programme is aimed at an adult or young audience with an interest in symphonic music.
