What the film is about
«Pequeña Miss Sunshine» tells the story of the Hoover family, a dysfunctional clan who embark on a road trip in a battered Volkswagen van to take Olive, the youngest daughter, to a children’s beauty pageant in California. Along the way, each family member—from the cocaine-addicted grandfather to the uncle recovering from a suicide attempt—confronts their own contradictions and failures. The film, a satire on the American dream and family expectations, blends dark humour with emotional moments, showing how the journey transforms each character.
