Screening at the Valencian Film Archive
The Edificio Rialto —home of the Valencian Film Archive— will screen Tranvía a la Malvarrosa (1997) in October 2026. Directed by José Luis García Sánchez and based on the novel by Manuel Vicent, the film was shot in Valencia and portrays the city in the 1950s through the eyes of a boy riding the tram that connected the city centre to Malvarrosa. A blend of nostalgia and social critique, the film won the Goya Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 1998.

The screenings will take place on two dates:
- 20 October at 20:00.
- 21 October at 18:00.
Admission is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis until the venue reaches full capacity. The film lasts 105 minutes.
Cast and production
The cast includes Juan Luis Galiardo (father), Liberto Rabal (child protagonist) and Ariadna Gil (mother). Produced by Lola Films, the movie features iconic locations in Valencia, such as the tram itself and the Malvarrosa neighbourhood.
