Taxi Driver with Live Music: ZABALA’s Proposal
The Mostra de Cinema del Mediterrani festival presents a unique session blending cinema and live music. On 23 September at 19:30, Sala Rodrigo at Palau de la Música will host VISUALS – ZABALA and Taxi Driver, an event where musician ZABALA performs a new live score alongside the screening of Taxi Driver (1976), Martin Scorsese’s iconic film.
The Film and Format
Directed by Scorsese and written by Paul Schrader, Taxi Driver is a 114-minute psychological drama following Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), a Vietnam War veteran with insomnia who works as a taxi driver in New York. The film, a classic of American cinema, explores themes like loneliness, urban violence, and alienation. For this screening, the projection will be accompanied by a live soundtrack, composed and performed by ZABALA, creating an immersive experience where music interacts with the images.
The event is part of the Visuals cycle at the Mostra, which explores the fusion of cinema and live music. The session will repeat on 25 September at the same time.
Tickets and Details
Tickets are priced at a flat rate of €6 and are available on the Palau de la Música website. The film will be screened in its original version with Spanish subtitles (V.O.S.E.).
