Who was Yehudi Menuhin
Yehudi Menuhin (1916-1999) is one of the most influential violinists of the 20th century. His performances, still considered benchmarks today, combined flawless technique with a unique sensitivity. But his legacy extends beyond classical music: Menuhin saw art as a tool for peace and dialogue between cultures. This mindset led him to collaborate with figures such as sitar player Ravi Shankar and jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli, breaking barriers between genres and traditions.
What will be covered in the conference
The talk, led by journalist and music expert Pere-Andreu Jariod, will offer an overview of Menuhin’s life and work. It will explore his most iconic recordings, his commitment to humanitarian causes, and his vision of music as a universal language. His role as an educator and his influence on projects promoting cultural integration, such as the International Music Day—which he himself championed—will also be discussed.

The conference will take place on Wednesday, 14 October 2026 at 6:30 PM and will last 1 hour. No advance booking is required, but arriving early is recommended to secure a seat, as capacity is limited.
