What is being presented
The book Quatre pantalles i uns peixos de colors. Contra els gegants tecnològics by Pilar Alfonso is an essay that invites readers to rethink the debate on screens and technology. The work explores the evolution of audiovisual culture—from cinema to digital devices—and challenges the business models of major platforms. It distinguishes between the use of technology and the economic interests behind it, advocating for audiovisual education based on critical thinking and responsible media use.
The book includes an extensive bibliography and raises a key question: Who controls digital tools, and how do we want to engage with them?
Who is taking part
The presentation will feature:
- Pilar Alfonso, the book’s author and a professor of Audiovisual Communication at the Universitat de València.
- Jordi Orts, an educational advisor and creator of the blog 400 colps, specialising in pedagogy and technology.
- Áurea Ortiz, programmer at the Filmoteca Valenciana and co-founder of Lab de sèries, a space dedicated to series analysis and audiovisual culture.

The event is free and requires no prior registration. After the presentation, there will be a Q&A session and a book signing.
