Women in cinema: gazes that transform
On 2 October 2026, La Rossa is hosting a free talk with Áurea Ortiz, a professor of Audiovisual Communication at the Universitat de València and an expert in film history. Under the title "Mirar y ser mirada: mujeres delante y detrás de la cámara", the session will analyse the role of women in the film industry, from pioneers to contemporary creators.
Ortiz will explore how women have constructed visual narratives as desiring subjects, not merely as objects of representation, and will examine films, directors, and movements that have brought these perspectives to light.
