A dialogue on sustainability and ecofeminism
On 26 September 2026, Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) concludes the V Encuentros Mundos por Venir cycle with a talk by Yayo Herrero, one of the most influential voices in political ecology and ecofeminism in Spain. The event, starting at 11:00 AM in the Auditorium of the Facultat de Belles Arts, will feature a dialogue between Herrero and writer and artist Miguel Ángel Baixauli. Entry is free and no prior registration is required, though access is limited to the venue’s capacity.
Who is taking part
Yayo Herrero is a doctor in Anthropology, agricultural technical engineer, and associate professor at the University of Cantabria. As a researcher, she has published over thirty books on sustainability, including Metamorfosis (2025), where she proposes an anthropological revolution to rethink the relationship between society and the environment. She is also a spokesperson for the Foro de Transiciones and a partner at the Garúa cooperative.
Miguel Ángel Baixauli, meanwhile, is a writer, visual artist, and curator of cultural projects. His work explores the intersections between art, technology, and critical thinking.

The V Encuentros Mundos por Venir take place from 24 September to 31 October 2026 at UPV, with activities addressing topics such as the climate crisis, social justice, and ecosocial alternatives. This encounter with Herrero is one of the highlights of the programme.
