A day among books, authors and cultural activities
On Saturday 26 September, Plaça Major in Alzira becomes the heart of Valencian literature with the Fira del Llibre d’Alzira 2026. Organised by the Regidoria de Cultura de l’Ajuntament d’Alzira, in collaboration with the Associació d’Editorials del País Valencià (AEPV) and the Biblioteca Municipal, this fair is part of the 11th edition of Art al Carrer and offers a packed programme of free activities for all audiences.
Publishers, authors and stalls
The fair will feature 25 stalls where Valencian publishers, bookshops and literary spaces will showcase their latest releases and catalogues. Among the confirmed exhibitors are:
- Editorial Aula, Editorial Gusanillo, Ediciones Llum de Lluna
- L’Eixam Llibres i L’Eixam Edicions, Litera Libros, Savanna Books
- La Cuentería Respetuosa, Ediciones Hades, Llibreria Hort dels Frares
- Malian Editora, Librería Galeradas, El Petit Editor, Edicions del Bullent
- Edicions Bromera, Editorial Stella Gemella, Reclam Editorial, Edicions 96
In addition, local authors will have three dedicated stalls for signing copies and sharing their work with visitors. Signings and presentations will take place on the main stage, which will also host shows and workshops.
Programme of activities
The event kicks off at 11:00 with the show El Monstre Petorro, based on Paco Cholbi’s book published by Bromera. This production, winner of the Premi Internacional Enric Solbes d’Àlbum Il·lustrat, is just the start of a day that will include:
- Storytelling and children’s shows: such as Pluja de paraules or Tyrik, el príncep d’Ilercavònia.
- Literary workshops and games: for children and adults, with activities to encourage reading.
- Author signings: including Sandra Sanulián, Juan Bolinches and Empar Banyuls, who will be available to chat and sign their books.
The fair will run until 20:00, with a break in the afternoon. Activities will take place continuously on the main stage and at the stalls, where visitors can interact directly with authors and publishers.
For all ages
The Fira del Llibre d’Alzira is designed for all ages. While there is no minimum age requirement for entry, some activities—such as workshops or storytelling—may require adult supervision for younger children. Admission is free, and no booking is needed, though arriving early is recommended for the most popular activities.
The poster for this edition was designed by illustrator Olga Mollà, whose work enhances the event’s visual appeal.
