On Thursday 1 October 2026, Cines Lys will bring back Trainspotting (1996), the film by Danny Boyle based on Irvine Welsh’s novel, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The screening, in original version with subtitles (VOSE), will start at 19:30 and lasts 94 minutes.
Synopsis
Mark Renton, a young heroin-addicted Scot, lives in Edinburgh with a group of equally lost friends: a violent, alcoholic psychopath, a womaniser obsessed with Sean Connery, a hiking enthusiast and Iggy Pop fan, and another desperate young man. The film, a raw and acidic portrait of 90s youth, became a cultural phenomenon and a benchmark of British cinema.
