A conversation with the artists

On 22 September 2026, IVAM will host a special visit to the exhibition La Albufera, a project that revisits the landscape of this natural park through the eyes of contemporary artists. On this occasion, Bleda y Rosa and Teresa Marín García will guide the public through Gallery 1, where they will explain their works and the dialogue they establish with the museum’s collection of historical photographs.

Curated by Sandra Moros, the exhibition brings together pieces by six artists who, four decades after the original commission L’Albufera. Visió tangencial (1985), reinterpret this territory using mediums such as photography, video, and installation. The initial project, promoted by the Conselleria de Cultura, featured twelve photographers—including Joan Fontcuberta, Rafael Navarro, and Humberto Rivas—who captured the wetland without constraints, creating a mosaic of perspectives.

This visit is an opportunity to discover how an exhibition is built and the stories behind the works, directly from their creators.
