A circus festival in the heart of Ciutat Vella

The Migrats Circ 2026 festival brings a free programme of contemporary circus to Valencia, taking place in Plaza Nàpols i Sicília from 1 to 6 September. Nine short performances—ranging from 15 to 50 minutes—will take place every evening at 7:00 PM, turning this corner of Ciutat Vella into an open-air stage for disciplines such as vertical dance, clown, juggling, acrobatics, pole dance, and aerial arts.

  • "Máximo Óptimo", by Máximo Óptimo: clown and juggling (20’).
  • "Falso Negativo", by Bufoneta y circo sombra: acrobatics (20’).

Workshops and parallel activities

Migrats Circ 2026 goes beyond performances. On 29 and 30 August, introductory workshops on aerial techniques, acrobatics, partner balancing, juggling, and children’s circus will be held in collaboration with Teatre Municipal El Musical, the Associació de Professionals de Circ de la Comunitat Valenciana, and schools Espai de Circ, Vaivé Circ, and Creat. Some activities are open to all, while others require advance registration—either fifteen minutes before the start or by emailing mesquecirc@circvoramar.com.

Additionally, more workshops will take place on 2, 4, and 5 September in various locations across Ciutat Vella, reinforcing the festival’s participatory spirit.

A project with Valencian roots

Curated by César García and Jacobo Pallarés, the festival highlights artists who have migrated to develop their careers in circus or chosen Valencia as their creative base. The programme reflects the diversity and dynamism of contemporary circus, featuring everything from poetic to humorous performances.
