Screening in tribute to Robin Williams
On Wednesday 16 September at 19:30, Cines Lys will screen Good Will Hunting (1997), one of Robin Williams’ most acclaimed films, in its original version with Spanish subtitles (VOSE). The screening is part of a three-film cycle organised to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the actor’s birth, which also includes Patch Adams (2 September) and The Fisher King (30 September).
Directed by Gus Van Sant, the film tells the story of Will Hunting, a young Bostonian with an exceptional talent for mathematics who works as a janitor at MIT. After being discovered by a professor, Will must choose between continuing his current life or developing his academic potential. His relationship with his therapist, played by Robin Williams, and with his friends—Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who also wrote the screenplay—is central to the plot.
