A documentary on communication in noisy times
Dissonants. Com comuniquem en un món ple de soroll? is the second documentary in the Dona’m Drets cycle, organised by Dona i Cinema at the OCCC. Directed by La Cosecha Comunicación, the film addresses the challenges of building independent communication in a context marked by the proliferation of hate speech, the climate crisis, and social precarity. Through testimonies and experiences from community, feminist, and counter-hegemonic collectives, the documentary aims to spark a dialogue on how to rethink ways of interacting and resisting in an increasingly polarised world.
The 57-minute screening is part of a session that includes a post-screening debate with director Alba Benlloch and several of the documentary’s protagonists: photojournalist Eva Máñez, social communicator Rudy Bruña, and illustrator and author Cristina Durán. Their careers—linked to communication for social change, independent journalism, and graphic storytelling—reflect the film’s critical and collective approach.
The Dona’m Drets cycle
This screening is part of the Dona’m Drets cycle, an initiative by Dona i Cinema that highlights films directed by women and tackles human rights themes. The cycle, held at the OCCC throughout September and October, combines screenings with debates to encourage reflection and idea-sharing. The 14 October session closes a programme that has included documentaries like Les Culpables (on teenage abortion) and a showcase of short films by Iranian women directors.
