Dance, humour, and the rebellion of the "wild"
Zambra de la Buena Salvaje is a dance solo created and performed by Isabel Vázquez, a scenic proposal that delves into the tension between who we are and what society expects of us. Through movement, humour, and irreverence, the artist constructs a ritual that speaks of domestication, the need to fit in, and the desire to reclaim one’s own nature. The piece, programmed as part of the XIV Bucles cycle, addresses these themes from a place of maturity and experience, without concessions or victimhood.
Vázquez, with a background in contemporary dance and performance, turns the stage into a space of resistance. It is not a conventional choreography but a physical conversation with the audience, where the political and the poetic intertwine. The music, silence, and the performer’s body come together to question imposed norms and reclaim freedom.
