A cry from the classrooms
SospitoS.O.S. is a creation by Teatro de lo Inestable that brings the indefinite strike of Valencian teachers, which began on 11 May 2026, to the stage. Directed by Quique Bataller and Rafa Palomares, the play uses a true crime format to expose the contradictions and challenges of public education: from demotivation to indoctrination, and the fight for better working conditions. The script, written by Bataller, María José Guisado, and Palomares, blends drama, comedy, and parody to reflect both the certainties and doubts of those who educate.
Documentary theatre with a unique voice
The piece incorporates real testimonies from education professionals, transforming them into a collective and personal narrative that alternates between audiovisual and theatrical elements. It is not a conventional documentary: its sincere and didactic tone aims to foster empathy in the audience, highlighting the complexities of teaching within a system under scrutiny. The strike, presented as a historic milestone, serves as a framework to challenge prejudices and shed light on the daily needs of classrooms.
