A festival that transforms Ruzafa

The 16th edition of Russafa Escènica turns the Ruzafa neighbourhood into a scattered stage under the theme Sagrada & Profana. From 16 to 27 September 2026, artists from the Comunitat Valenciana will present short pieces of theatre, dance and music in unconventional spaces: bars, art galleries, coworking spaces and even private homes. Now in its sixteenth edition, the festival aims to bring performing arts to audiences in intimate and surprising formats, breaking down the barrier between stage and everyday life.

Timetable and programme

Performances will take place in two daily slots:

  • 18:30 and 19:30 from 17 to 26 September.
  • 12:00 and 13:00 on Sunday 27 September.

Each piece will last approximately 35 minutes, following the format of previous editions. The full programme, including titles, artists and participating venues, will be published in the coming days on the festival’s official website.

Tickets and capacity

Some performances will be free, while others will require a paid ticket, though prices have not yet been announced. Tickets can be reserved via links that will be made available on the festival’s website. As spaces are limited—many are not conventional theatres—advance booking is recommended to secure a place.

Artists and proposals

Russafa Escènica champions local talent: all works are created by artists from the Comunitat Valenciana, from emerging companies to established creators. The festival features theatre, contemporary dance, performance and live music, always with an experimental approach. This year’s theme, Sagrada & Profana, invites exploration of the duality between the spiritual and the earthly, though each piece will interpret it in its own way.

To navigate the options, check the programme on the official website and choose which Ruzafa spaces you’d like to discover this year.
