Wine, gastronomy and tradition in the heart of Requena
The 34th Requena Wine Fair (Ferevín 2026) returns to Avenida del Arrabal—next to the Fuente de los Colores—from 20 to 23 August, cementing its place as one of the region’s most iconic events. Organised by Ferevín with support from the Requena Town Council and the PROAVA project, this edition holds special significance as it celebrates Requena as the Spanish Wine City 2026, a title awarded by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN).
A showcase for Utiel-Requena wines
Requena lies at the heart of the Utiel-Requena Denomination of Origin, renowned for its red, white, rosé and, particularly, its sparkling and semi-sparkling wines, such as those made from the Bobal grape variety. During the fair, local wineries will present their wines in guided tastings and sampling sessions, allowing visitors to discover the diversity and quality of the region’s wines.
Gastronomy and activities
In addition to wine, the fair will feature stalls offering typical regional produce, including cured meats, cheeses, olive oil and traditional sweets. While the full programme of activities has yet to be announced, previous editions have included tasting workshops, food pairings, culinary demonstrations and family-friendly activities, creating a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere for all.
Location and context
The fair takes place on a pedestrian stretch of Avenida del Arrabal, in the historic centre of Requena. This year, the event reinforces its role as a showcase for wine tourism and the promotion of the city’s viticultural heritage, in line with its designation as Spanish Wine City 2026.
