Screening of Khers Nist at the Valencian Film Library
The Edificio Rialto, home of the Valencian Film Library, will host the screening of Khers Nist (Los osos no existen), a film by Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi in October 2026. Released in 2022, the film lasts 107 minutes and will be shown in two sessions: 21 October at 20:00 and 24 October at 18:00.
Synopsis and context
Khers Nist tells two parallel love stories in which couples face hidden and inevitable obstacles. The film, written and directed by Panahi—who also plays one of the lead roles—explores themes such as superstition, bureaucratic forces, and human resilience. The work has been recognised at international festivals like Venice and Valladolid, where its critical approach and intimate narrative were praised.
Although the film premiered in 2022, its screening in Valencia in 2026 is part of the Valencian Film Library’s programme, which often includes thematic cycles or retrospectives of prominent directors. It has not yet been confirmed whether tickets will be free or available at a symbolic price (as is usual for other screenings at the venue, with prices starting from €1.50).
