The company Estudi Zero brings El gran manicomi to the stage at La Máquina, a theatrical production adapting the poetry of Antonina Canyelles, a Mallorcan poet known for her transgressive, feminist, and antifascist voice. This is not a conventional recital: the performance plays with staging to turn verses into a sensory experience, where words gain temperature, rhythm, and body.
Canyelles' texts, marked by anticlericalism, rage, and the celebration of freedom, transform into a scenic act that seeks to break expectations. The company, specialised in bringing literature to theatre, explores the duality between life and death, anguish and celebration, always from a playful and sensual perspective.
