Silence as a Starting Point
Gabriella Nuru presents «Ni una palabra vacía», a creative writing workshop that challenges the idea of the blank page. On Thursday 23 September 2026, from 18:00 to 20:00 at La Casa de Patraix, attendees will work with a simple premise: what happens when what we don’t say becomes the origin of a text?
Through practical exercises, the workshop invites reflection on the different types of silence—protective, painful, or hiding stories—and how to turn them into words. The activities will combine short readings from authors like Audre Lorde or Alejandra Pizarnik with individual and group writing exercises. This is not a theoretical course but a space to experiment with pauses, absences, and secrets as narrative tools.
The session costs €20, plus a mandatory consumption (not included in the price). No prior writing experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to play with words.
For information on how to get there, check the La Casa de Patraix venue page.
Who Is This Workshop For?
The workshop is open to anyone interested in creative writing, regardless of their level. You don’t need to have published anything or have literary training—just a desire to explore how silence (and what we keep to ourselves) can become the seed of a story, poem, or personal text. The activities are designed to adapt to different paces, from first-time writers to those seeking new perspectives.
The session lasts two hours, enough time to dive into the exercises without rushing. However, as it’s an in-person workshop, capacity is limited, so it’s best to book in advance.
