A documentary on the future of forests
On 4 September 2026, ABC Park will screen Berdea, a documentary following an architect and a landscape designer as they explore the wood cycle in Euskadi. The film raises key questions: What kind of forest will future generations inherit? and Who decides today what the forest of tomorrow will look like? Through testimonies from forest owners, sawmill workers, researchers, and loggers, the documentary examines the tensions between industry, historical memory, and environmental challenges.
A collective perspective
Berdea doesn’t focus solely on technical aspects but also connects forestry with social and cultural dimensions. The voices of historians and industry workers reveal how wood has shaped identities and economies, and how its current management defines the future. Aimed at all audiences, the documentary invites reflection on our relationship with nature.
